Socks and Sandals...

was formed in 2002 by Clark ov Saturn and Sean Smith. They want you to smile and perhaps, if you would like, to rock your body. They eat lots of Krispy Kremes and have been gaining weight. They make comfort music combining digital sampling and effects, analog synthesis, and organic ambient sounds. Sources include FM radios, live street sounds from all over the world, sampled and live African instruments and toys. Their eclectic electronic sound is both emotional and infectious on the dance floor. Deep dubby landscapes and basslines meet syncopated poly-rhythms and melancholy melodies. Improvised vocals may be in German, instructing you to "stick your fingers in your ears" or in French, about "Papa Sartre is a window to thehead of cheese". Imagine yourself completely at ease, totally relaxed and comfortable, a big smile on your face, and your body just naturally begins to move, for pleasure. Socks and Sandals name really says it all: sense of humor, laid back, easy-going, down-to-earthy, organic, care-free comfort.
Socks and Sandals may or may not be fashionable, depending on how you look at it, but when you're really in need of comfort, you can count on them.
